The Bobcats released Jeff McInnis Friday. The guard has fallen out of favor since getting into a heated exchange with coach Sam Vincent last month. Earl Boykins will see more playing time now behind starter Raymond Felton.

Bobcats coach Sam Vincent confirmed Tuesday that Jeff McInnis is now his third point for the foreseeable future, according to the Charlotte Observer. We noted that as the likely case over the weekend when newly signed Earl Boykins backed up starting point guard Raymond Felton and McInnis didn't play a minute Saturday. It's a tough fall for McInnis, who had been starting at the one next to Felton at the two, but he held little fantasy value anyway.

A quadriceps injury kept Jeff McInnis from playing on Saturday. "It's a little tight so we decided to just rest it," McInnis said, according to the Charlotte Observer. "If I go out and pull it, I could miss four-six weeks. I'm getting a little older, so I've got to be careful with injuries." McInnis carries little fantasy value even as a starter, so you may want to bench him until his condition improves.
