Mark Blount has only mustered one rebound in each of his last two preseason games, which is raising questions about his effectiveness, according to the Miami Herald. But coach Eric Spoelstra said, "He's still a good team defender and he does provide something unique, he really does, in terms of his shooting, being able to draw out centers like that. We have to find a better way, a more efficient way of using him."

Mark Blount threw in a clunker of a performance on Thursday night as the Bulls staked the Heat to their 24th loss in the last 25 games. The Miami center was 1-of-6 from the floor, scoring but six points and pulling down seven rebounds. The arrival of Shawn Marion from Phoenix will hurt Blount's scoring opportunities moving forward.

Mark Blount continues to produce in the absence of Shaquille O'Neal. Blount had a team-high 22 points in Sunday's loss to the Lakers. The starting center was 9-for-15 from the field and added five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Blount isn't the rebounder that Shaq was or is, but he's been a solid waiver wire addition for fantasy owners this season.
