Earl Boykins signed with the Bobcats Thursday, the AP reports. Boykins had been out of the NBA since deciding last summer not to exercise the player option on his deal with the Bucks that would have paid him $3 million this season. The club has some injury and performance issues at guard, so it will be interesting to see how much time head coach Sam Vincent finds for Boykins.

Earl Boykins will pass on the $3 million player option on his contract with the Bucks, making him a free agent. After coming over in a trade with Denver, Boykins scored in double digits in 24 of his 35 games in Milwaukee, averaging 14 points and 4.5 assists, according to the AP.

March 25, 2007
Earl Boykins returned from his right thumb injury and put up nine points against the Pistons on Sunday. It was his first game since February 21.
