Guard Earl Boykins has signed a one-year contract with Virtus Bologna in Italy, ESPN.com confirms. The deal is worth more than $3.5 million, and Boykins will be the highest-paid play in Italy.

Earl Boykins signed with the Bobcats Thursday, the AP reports. Boykins had been out of the NBA since deciding last summer not to exercise the player option on his deal with the Bucks that would have paid him $3 million this season. The club has some injury and performance issues at guard, so it will be interesting to see how much time head coach Sam Vincent finds for Boykins.
