Steve Francis has been cleared for the non-contact portion of camp, according to the Houston Chronicle. He is trying to come back from right knee surgery he underwent last February. The former All-Star said, "It’s way more than I’ve been doing. Just being around the guys, I think, is going to mentally help. Plus, I forgot the plays. It’s going to be great for me."

Rockets guard Steve Francis says he is still not 100 percent and is still rehabbing from his torn quad tendon, according to Rockets.com. "The surgery I had, they say it normally takes people about a year to come back. I'm at month six and hopefully within the next three to four weeks I'll be ready to go," he said.

Steve Francis exercised an option on Wednesday to stick with the Rockets in 2008-09, the Houston Chronicle reports. The guard is coming off surgery to repair a torn quad tendon in his right leg.

Steve Francis will undergo season-ending surgery to repair bi-lateral quadriceps tendinitis, according Sports Network. Francis has been out since mid December with the ailment.
