Rafer Alston, who was injured with five minutes left in the second quarter of Game 6 against the Utah Jazz with an ankle injury, has been ruled out for the rest of tonight's game.

The Jazz are expecting Rafer Alston (hamstring) to play in Game 3 after missing the first two contests, not that Jerry Sloan's club is worried. "I don't know if he does change them," Matt Harpring tells the Houston Chronicle. "He just gives them another player, some more depth. But he's very similar to Bobby Jackson."

Rafer Alston believes he may be able to play in Game 3 against the Jazz. The point guard has missed the first two contests due to a strained right hamstring. "I'm pushing hard," Alston tells the Houston Chronicle. "Right now I'm pushing for Game 3. My goal all along was to push for Game 3, and now I'm getting close."

Rafer Alston will miss Game 2 against the Jazz due to his strained right hamstring, the Houston Chronicle confirms. "I'm shooting for (Game) 3," Alston explains. "I can't take the chance to go earlier than possible. I feel a little better. I did pull it. It was more to the severe side than it was moderate. They say as the days go by I'll start to feel better."

Rafer Alston scored 18 points in the Houston Rockets 103-80 easy win on Wednesday night. Alston and his teammates spread the wealth on a night that Tracy McGrady sat out with a sore shoulder. The Houston point guard added five assists and three rebounds to the game winning statline.

"I felt it was about time I let it rest and let it heal," Alston explains. "I don't want to do anything so severe it knocks me out for the playoffs." Bobby Jackson started in his place on Thursday and managed 11 points and four assists.

PG Rafer Alston hoisted 31 points through the nets today as the Houston Rockets extended their win streak to 21 games, beating the Lakers 104-92. Alston also added five assists, two rebounds, and two steals to one of his the best performances of his career.

Rafer Alston had assault charges against him dropped on Friday, according to the Houston Chronicle. "We went into court and the DA office indicated that all charges be dismissed based on their investigation," attorney Al Ebanks said. "They did not feel this is a case that should go forward. They understand the case has no merit. Were obviously pleased with the outcome, as pleased as can be when the case had no merit and understand should never have been charged in the first place. The person who brought the charges against him is a liar in the highest order. For whatever motivation existed for this man, he made this terrible charge." Alston was charged back in August, but he's in the clear now. Skip To My Lou has been ripping things up this month, and the Rockets will keep leaning on him now that Yao Ming is done playing for the season.

Rafer Alston had a solid all-around game on Monday night with 17 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Alston entered the game shooting under 40% for the season, so it was nice to see him a bit discerning when it came to hoisting up the rock. The result was 6-for-12 shooting, including three 3-pointers.
