Kenyon Martin has been suspended one game by the NBA for exceeding the flagrant points total, according to NBA.com. He'll sit out Saturday's game and will be assessed an additional suspension for all subsequent flagrant fouls. Eduardo Najera will likely replace Martin in the starting lineup.

The Denver Nuggets jumped the Golden State Warriors in the race for the final playoff spot on Saturday, and one can attribute that upward spike in large part to the play of Kenyon Martin. The former first overall pick exploded for 30 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday night. The garbage man, known more for his dunks and put backs, K-Mart hit from everywhere on the court.

Kenyon Martin continues to emerge in the late weeks of the season, showing flashes of the powerful forward Denver thought he would be when given the big dollars to come west. In the Nuggets’ 119-112 victory, Kenyon posted a team-leading 30 points, going 12-of-21 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line, adding 11 rebounds and two blocked shots. This was Martin’s best game of the season to date and one of eight games in which he has exceeded his seasonal average for points per game this month. He’s rejuvenated and seems ready to leap back to prominence as Denver fights to make the playoffs.
