Jamaal Magloire has signed a one-year deal with the Nets, according to the New York Daily News. The one-time All-Star has been a thorough disappointment in recent years, but he'll have as good a chance as any to make some fantasy noise this coming season. The Nets have no frontcourt to speak of, so he should actually see steady action for a change. Whether he puts out the effort to do anything with the opportunity will be the key.

The Nets have an interest in free agent center Jamaal Magloire, who averaged 6.5 points and 6.1 rebounds for Milwaukee and Portland last season. Team president Rod Thorn said this does not mean the team has no interest in bring Mikki Moore back. "This does not preclude Mikki from being back with us," Thorn said in the NY Post. "Mikki has interest from other teams and is checking his opportunities." The Nets would not sign both Moore and Magloire, so they're likely just covering their bases in case Moore departs.
