The NBA on Friday suspended Boston Celtics forward Darius Miles for 10 games for a violation the league’s drug policy according to the AP. Miles violated the anti-drug program at the end of the 2007-08 season. The league said the violation involved phentermin, which is an appetite suppressant.

Miles has earned workouts with the Nets, Celtics, Suns, and Mavericks, reports SI.com. "I feel like I'm a starter in this league -- on a lot of teams I really should be a starter,'' Darius said. "But I would love to go to a playoff team to come off the bench.''

The Trail Blazers have requested waivers on forward Darius Miles, the Oregonian confirms. Miles hasn't played in a game since April 15, 2006 due to a right knee injury. "This allows Darius and the Trail Blazers to move forward and achieve closure to this matter. To his credit, Darius worked hard to come back, but his body just didn't allow it to happen," general manager Kevin Pritchard says.
