The Bucks traded Desmond Mason to the Hornets for Jamaal Magloire on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. After signing Bobby Simmons, the Bucks had a logjam of swingmen, so the move was bound to happen sooner or later. He probably will start at small forward and will be the Hornets' only veteran offensive weapon.

As was feared by fantasy owners when the Bucks signed Bobby Simmons, Desmond Mason will move back to a reserve role this season, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He's one of the best sixth men going, but obviously his overall value will remain capped. Coach Terry Stotts did say he will use Simmons at power forward at times to get Simmons and Mason on the floor at the same time.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Desmond Mason may have to deal with his strained abdominal muscle for a while. "I don't think it's anything that's going to go away anytime soon," said coach Terry Porter. "It's probably going to be one of those things that's based on his ability to tolerate the pain as far as how effective he's going to be."

Desmond Mason is nursing a sore ring finger and will take advantage of not participating in the dunk contest to rest it, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Constitution. "He's had a tough time with that finger, on both hands actually," said coach Terry Porter. "He's been a trooper to just try to protect it as much as he can and go out and compete."
