Lakers won't match offer for Turiaf Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Lakers will not match
the four-year, $17 million offer sheet forward Ronny Turiaf signed with the
Golden State Warriors last week, Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak
announced Friday.
Since the Lakers are already over the trigger point for the luxury tax, the
Lakers would be assessed a fine equal to any amount spent. Kupchak couldn't
justify the money for the six-foot-ten, 250-pound Turiaf, based on the

Andrew Bynum, recovering from left knee surgery, has been cleared for light work on the basketball court, according to the LA Times. "The reports are very positive," Kupchak said. "Everything is upbeat. We expect Andrew to be able to go full steam, full bore by training camp."
Lakers forward Luke Walton has undergone successful surgery to remove bone spurs and scar tissue as well as to clean cartilage debris in his right ankle, according to the Associated Press.
