Another Gasol to play for Grizzlies Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - The Memphis Grizzlies signed Spanish center
Marc Gasol, the club announced Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
Gasol, the 2008 Most Valuable Player in the Spanish ACB League, is the younger
brother of NBA player Pau Gasol. Pau is Memphis' all-time leading scorer, but
was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers this past season.
Marc has spent the last five seasons in the Spanish ACB league, and earned the
MVP in 2008 after averaging 16.2 points and 8.3 rebounds.

OJ Mayo scored 20 points while running the point in Wednesday's summer league loss to the Clippers, according to the AP. Memphis coach Marc Iavaroni didnt want to classify Mayo as a point guard or shooting guard, opting to call him a "creative scorer." Iavaroni added, "I'm not a numbers guy. He needs to be a more versatile player and work at other positions. He showed he's willing to take the big shot and he likes to have the ball in his hands."
Kwame Brown took his traveling tryout show on the road to visit the Atlanta Hawks, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "It's nice to see two big bodies first and foremost," HC Mike Woodson said. "Zaza [Pachulia], Al Horford and Solomon Jones are the only real bigs we've got.
