Jameer Nelson, G Sunday 5/11, 1:03 PM CT
Jameer Nelson and the Magic are not ready for the offseason. The point guard predicted a win in Tuesday's at Detroit. "We're going to make some adjustments and we're going to win this game," Nelson tells the AP. "I'm not being arrogant or cocky or anything like that. I think [Saturday] we let it slip out of our hands. Game 2 we let it slip out of our hands. We're going to win this game in Detroit."
Dwight Howard, F Saturday 5/10, 7:05 PM CT
The Detroit Pistons found their defense to be as effective as needed, putting the clamps on team leader Dwight Howard . The Orlando center shot just 3-of-12 from the field and garnered just one trip to the free-throw line (going 2-for-2) to score a paltry 8 points, dropping in a hard-fought 90-89 loss to the Detroit Pistons.

Dwight Howard has earned First-Team All-NBA honors, according to the Boston Globe. He led the NBA in rebounding with 14.2 per contest, and also averaged 20.7 points, 1.3 assists, and 2.1 blocks.

J.J. Redick has been placed on the inactive list by the Magic on Wednesday, according to Florida Today. The team stated the reason to be tendinitis in Redick's left foot. Forward James Augustine was added to the active roster.
Brian Cook, F Thursday 5/8, 7:24 AM CT
Brian Cook is unlikely to play in the series against Detroit, according to Florida Today. Cook broke a bone in the top of his right hand on March 31, causing him to miss the last eight games of the regular season and the first-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors. Coach Van Gundy said, "He's not going to play in this series. I just don't see how he does unless all of a sudden his hand gets 200 percent better and he gets some practices in. You'd have to really see some good things from him in practice. You'd be putting him into an impossible spot without practice. You'd like to have him at full strength, but not where he's at now."
Dwight Howard, F Wednesday 5/7, 10:10 PM CT
The Orlando Magic earned their first win over Detroit in the NBA playoffs this evening, and as we have come to expect, center Dwight Howard played a major role in the effort. Howard shot 8-of-13 from the field and 4-of-7 from the free-throw line to score 20 points, adding 12 rebounds and a whopping six blocked shots to put the Magic in the win column for the first time in this series.
Rashard Lewis, F Wednesday 5/7, 10:06 PM CT
The Orlando Magic managed to pull their first win of the playoff series against the Detroit Pistons this evening, but unlike other Orlando efforts, it was not center Dwight Howard doing the heavy lifting. Forward Rashard Lewis was the top scoring dog for the Magic this evening, shooting an impressive 11-of-15 from the floor, 5-of-6 from the three-point line, and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe to score 33 points.
Dwight Howard, F Wednesday 5/7, 11:45 AM CT
The Magic are still firing away from the perimeter. In fact, the way Orlando will get back in the Round 2 series is all about their outside game. Despite the presence of the NBA's best interior player in Dwight Howard, the Magic continue to be committed to a perimeter approach that is hurting them. Orlando has launched 41 three-point attempts over the first two games, hitting just 13 of them (31.7 percent).
Dwight Howard, F Tuesday 5/6, 3:09 PM CT
The Magic's flight from Detroit to Orlando was diverted because of a mechanical problem, according to ESPN. Team spokesman Joel Glass says the plane landed in Cincinnati as a precaution late Monday. The Magic were trying to return home after a 100-93 loss to the Pistons in Game 2. No one was injured, the plane was serviced and the team spent the night in Cincinnati. The coaches and players were boarding Tuesday morning to return home.
Dwight Howard, F Monday 5/5, 9:49 PM CT
Dwight Howard lead the Magic with 22 points and 18 rebounds on Monday night, but it wasn't enough as the Pistons defeated the Pistons by the score of 100-93.
Dwight Howard, F Monday 5/5, 5:54 PM CT
Detroit took over Game 1 in the third quarter, when they finally realized that with Orlando's long range shooting coming up empty they could keep ratcheting up their physicality in the paint. Expect the Bad Boys to continue body up Dwight Howard , who finished with just 12 points and eight rebounds.
Dwight Howard, F Sunday 5/4, 8:49 AM CT
Dwight Howard suffered a bruised left thumb in Saturday’s Game 1 loss to the Pistons, according to the AP. He sustained the injury when trying to haul in a rebound, and was accidently hit by Theo Ratliff. Howard said, "It’s fine. It’s just a bruised thumb. I’ll be all right."

Rashard Lewis scored 18 points in Saturday's 91-72 loss to Detroit in Game 1. He also poured in seven boards, two assists, and one block.
Hedo Turkoglu, F Saturday 5/3, 10:06 PM CT
Hedo Turkoglu played well in Saturday's 91-72 loss to Detroit, as he registered 18 points, seven boards, four assists, and one steal.
Adonal Foyle, C Friday 5/2, 9:01 AM CT
Adonal Foyle has been upset with his reduced minutes in the playoffs, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Foyle played more than rookie Marcin Gortat during the regular season, but Gortat saw 24 minutes of playing time in the Toronto series to Foyle's seven. "You have to take it personally," Foyle said. "You have to be mad about it or you should stop playing the game. I understand the situation, but if you are a competitor, you're mad."
Brian Cook, F Thursday 5/1, 5:46 PM CT
Brian Cook, out with a broken bone in his right hand, hopes to be able to return in the second round, according to Florida Today. ``Right now it’s just really weak. Today was my first day with (the cast) off and I’m just trying to get back acclimated to the ball,’’ he said.
