Former Denver Broncos punter Todd Sauerbrun pleaded guilty Wednesday to disturbing the peace in a confrontation with a taxi driver last December and was sentenced to perform 24 hours of community service, according to ESPN.

Former Denver Broncos punter Todd Sauerbrun is scheduled to go on trial today in Denver County Court on charges stemming from an altercation with a taxi driver last December, according to the Rocky Mountain News. Saul Cast accused Sauerbrun of smacking him in the back of the head, and verbally abusing him after he picked up the punter in his Metro Taxi outside the Ocean bar in Cherry Creek.

The agent for Todd Sauerbrun said that the Broncos have cut his client, according to the AP. Sauerbrun just completed a four-game suspension for using a banned dietary supplement, but the Broncos decided to keep replacement Paul Ernster.

Todd Sauerbrun pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and was placed on a year's unsupervised probation and fined $100, according to the Denver Post. He's also been ordered not to drive in North Carolina for the next 30 days -- which shouldn't be a problem considering he was traded to Denver last week.
