Saints starting strong safety Jay Bellamy, who injured his right rotator cuff in the third quarter of Sunday's game, will undergo surgery and miss the rest of the season, according to the San Antonio Express.

Jay Bellamy re-signed with the Saints for three years on Tuesday, according to the Sports Network. "Jay brings a veteran presence to the secondary, not to mention his productivity and consistency," said Saints head coach Jim Haslett. "He has been one of our best defenders since we signed him as a free agent in 2001 and we considered re-signing him a priority entering the offseason."
