Warrick Dunn was able to practice Friday morning and wants to play Saturday against Dallas, though his status won't be clear until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. He's dealing with a calf injury and is officially listed as questionable. "It felt good today and right now, I'm going to treat it and make sure I feel good tomorrow and then we'll see," Dunn said. Warrick Dunn missed another practice Thursday and is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's matchup with Dallas, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Dunn left last week's game early with a calf injury and he hasn't been able to practice this week. Head coach Jim Mora hasn't made it clear who the Falcons will start at tailback if Dunn can't go; Jerious Norwood is dealing with a knee injury (though he did practice Thursday), and Justin Griffith is a fullback who normally doesn't carry the ball a lot, though he was solid (12 carries, 57 yards, one touchdown) in the win at Tampa Bay. Jamal Robertson was added this week as insurance, but he's considered the emergency option at this point.

The calf injury Warrick Dunn suffered in Sunday's game is not a season-ending injury, but it is still unclear whether Dunn will be able to play this weekend against the Cowboys, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "That's something we're talking about internally, and until (him and Jerious Norwood) are ruled out we are just going to keep it to ourselves," Mora said.

The availability of Warrick Dunn for Week 15 is unclear due to the calf injury that forced him out of yesterday's game, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Right now I don't know how serious it is," Dunn said. "Right now, I can walk on it, that's a good sign." Coach Jim Mora said Dunn is considered questionable for Saturday's game.

Warrick Dunn thinks the Falcons should use him more in the passing game, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. He's been active as a receiver in his career (408 catches), but he has just four receptions this year. In the Falcons' hybrid West Coast offense, the backs are used heavily in pass protection.

February 10, 2006
Even though Warrick Dunn is due to count for just more than $8 million against the Falcons' salary cap next season, he will remain with the team, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Warrick Dunn isn't going anywhere," Falcons coach Jim Mora said in an e-mail Thursday. "Warrick epitomizes what we believe an Atlanta Falcon should be both on and off the field. He has been one of most productive players over the past two seasons and is a great fit for this offense. I'm excited to see him out on the field helping us win games again in 2006."
