The Redskins signed Keenan McCardell on Monday. Terms were not disclosed. Safety Omar Stoutmire was released.

Keenan McCardell appears close to signing with the Redskins. He could be practicing with the team as soon as Monday, according to the Washington Post. It's possible this means that Santana Moss could miss some games due to his groin injury, or else the Redskins are just trying to add some veteran depth for the long haul. It will be interesting to see if Moss is able to practice on Wednesday.

The Texans’ receiving corps has suffered myriad injuries so far in camp, but the one of main concern appears to involve recent addition Keenan McCardell. The Houston Chronicle reported that McCardell recently suffered a strained quadriceps. “(Trainer) Kevin (Bastin) talked to me about four or five days, I don’t know, we’ll see,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “But we really need to get him back out there. He knows his body better than anybody, and we’ve got to get him healthy.”

The Texans signed veteran wide receiver Keenan McCardell to a one-year contract worth $860,000. “I think the Texans are building something good, and I want to be part of it,” McCardell told the Houston Chronicle. “I considered several offers, but playing for the Texans just feels right.” A Houston native, McCardell will join the battle with Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones to start opposite Andre Johnson.

The Redskins are in talks with free agent Keenan McCardell. The 37-year-old rejected the team's initial proposal, which was for the veteran minimum, according to the Washington Post. McCardell has received a similar offer from the Texans.

The Texans have made an offer to Keenan McCardell , but the veteran wide receiver hasn’t signed on yet. “We’re doing what we can do, and I know there’s probably some football teams out there that can do a little more,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak told the Houston Chronicle. “He’s got options. I’m not sure if we’re option one or number three, but we’ll see. We’d love to have him, and he knows that.”

Keenan McCardell is expected to visit with the Saints in the next few days, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. McCardell, who turned 37 in January, was cut by the Chargers at the beginning of March.
