"It took a little while to decide," said Ogden. "You just can't make a decision like this overnight."

The Baltimore Ravens have struggled to identify a worthy candidate at quarterback during recent seasons, and as a result the team seems to be putting all emphasis on answer those questions with an addition in this year's NFL Draft, according to NFL.com.

Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh is pleasantly surprised after evaluating his young group of offensive linemen, according to the Carroll County Times. “I think one thing that really jumps out is the offensive line,” Harbaugh said. “I think it’s really got a chance to be tough, physical and athletic.” The biggest question facing the Ravens’ offensive line is the likelihood of having to replace Jonathan Ogden, an 11-time Pro Bowl selection who’s leaning toward retirement. If Ogden chooses to retire, the top two candidates to start at left tackle are Adam Terry, a 6-foot-8, 330-pound former second-round pick from Syracuse who started nine games last season, and Jared Gaither. Although Gaither, 22, needs more seasoning after playing in six games as a rookie, it’s hard to find someone that’s 6-9, 350 pounds with his ability to move. Last season, Baltimore finished 16th in rushing offense (112.3 yards per game) and allowed 39 sacks, which ranked 21st in the league.

Baltimore veteran left tackle and future Hall of Fame candidate Jonathan Ogden continues to ponder retirement but has made no official decision, according to Scout.com. Ogden is 33-years of age, fairly young for an offensive lineman, but his 12 years in the NFL has been rough and rugged to say the least. Ogden has long been viewed as one of the best in NFL history at his position, but with worries of a turf toe injury lingering and the desire to attend training camp waning, Ogden is said to be giving heavy consideration to retirement. Reports indicate he has promised the team a decision will come before the upcoming NFL Draft so the team can plan accordingly.

Jonathan Ogden said that the Ravens "know to proceed with their offseason plans as if I'm retiring," according to the Baltimore Sun. "I have not officially retired," Ogden told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "So if I come back, it's great, they said, but they're proceeding as if I'm not." Ogden has been dealing with a hyperextended toe since last offseason, though he told the Review-Journal that he recently taped up the digit and ran. If he decides to play next season, a decision may not come until training camp or the preseason.

The Baltimore Ravens have restructured the contract of veteran LT Jonathan Ogden, according to the Baltimore Sun. The move reduces Ogden’s 2008 salary from $7.5 million to $2.5 million, creating $5 million in additional salary cap space for the organization. The transaction is expected to provide the team with enough salary cap room to keep the franchise tag on LB/DE Terrell Suggs, and re-sign some of their other restricted free agents. Ogden is currently contemplating retirement after dealing with a foot injury for the past couple of seasons.

Whether All World left tackle Jonathan Ogden will return to Baltimore for organized team activities this spring has yet to be determined. "I think he's right on the fence," new head coach John Harbaugh told the Baltimore Sun. "The times that we've talked, he's torn. He's trying to figure out what he wants to do, and he's going to take his time. He'll approach it very methodically and do what is best for him in his life." Ogden, at 75 percent healthy and motivated, is still better than 75 percent of the league combined.
