Morten Andersen isn’t ready to hang up the cleats. “I’d like to keep going,” Andersen told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I need a little help from a team that will take the journey with me, but certainly. I think my performance speaks for itself this year.” Andersen has made 20-of-23 field goal attempts this season.

The Falcons re-signed free agent Morten Andersen on Monday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He is expected to replace rookie Matt Prater, who missed a pair of field goals during the Week 2 loss to the Jaguars.

Free agent kicker Morten Andersen is working out this summer and is open to returning for another season with the Falcons. “They’ve got the young guys in there now,” Andersen told Tuesday’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “But they know I’m right here and I’m training.” Andersen converted 20 of 23 field goal attempts last season.

Morten Andersen became the leading scorer in NFL history Saturday night. He booted four extra points, giving him 2,437 points for his career and breaking Gary Anderson's mark of 2,434.

The Falcons signed 46-year-old kicker Morten Andersen to handle their place kicking. Michael Koenen missed all four of his field goal attempts on Sunday even though they were all from 40 yards and in. It is likely that Koenen will still attempt any kicks of 50 yards or more, because Andersen doesn't have that kind of range anymore.
