Charlie Batch was 15-of-25 for 205 yards and three touchdowns while filling in for Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh's season opener against Miami. It's possible Batch will have to start again next week against the Jaguars if Roethlisberger isn't totally recovered from his emergency appendectomy.

Charlie Batch will start the Steelers season opener after starter Ben Roethlisberger had to undergo an emergency appendectomy, according to the AP. Batch threw for 246 yards in four games as Roethlisberger's backup last year.

Charlie Batch and the Steelers came to an agreement Monday on a three-year contract that will pay him more than $1 million annually, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I didn't really plan on being anywhere else," Batch said. "I like the organization. This is where I want to be."
