Colts.com reports that Peyton Manning has met with team president Bill Polian and head coach Jim Caldwell to discuss the Colts assistant coaching situation.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Offensive coordinator Tom Moore and offensive line coach Howard Mudd have formally filed their retirement papers with the team.

There are rumblings out of Indianapolis that the Colts might consider taking a quarterback on Day 1 of the NFL draft, according to Pro Football Weekly. The Colts have for years noted Peyton Manning's terrific durability as a reason not to spend an early pick on a quarterback, but with Manning having knee surgery last year, they have finally warmed to the idea of upgrading the backup quarterback position.

Pro Football Weekly reports that the NFL owners meetings that begin Sunday and run through Wednesday in California could have a major impact on several of the league's offseason events. Among the topics to be discussed is changing the dates for the Scouting Combine, veteran free agency, and the draft, which could possibly move from late April to late February.
