SI.com reports that Colts head coach Tony Dungy thinks that Peyton Manning (knee) may be ready to participate in preseason games.

Archie Manning indicated that his son Peyton Manning's rehab from knee surgery is going well, according to the Indianapolis Star. The elder Manning said, "I think he’s doing fine, really. Peyton will deal with it. He’ll rehab and go at it 100 percent. I know Peyton and he’ll make the best of his days and try to contribute."

The IndyStar.com is reporting that Peyton Manning could miss the Colts' five preseason games. However, the team believes he will be ready for the September 7, regular-season opener, against the Chicago Bears. "That's our expectation," team president Bill Polian said Tuesday afternoon.

The Indianapolis Star suggests that Peyton Manning is "uncertain" for the season opener after undergoing surgery on Monday to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee. The Colts called the operation "routine" and placed a timetable of four-to-six weeks. Manning had been receiving treatment for his condition since February.
