He's considered probable for Sunday's game with the Lions, and there's been nothing to indicate that Green will be scratched or limited in any way.

Coach Mike McCarthy said that he will continue to give Ahman Green Wednesday practices off in order to keep him fresh and healthy, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I'm pleased with the way he responds because he's really fresh on Thursday and Friday and has two excellent days of practice," McCarthy said.

Ahman Green missed the Packers' first two series of the second half yesterday, because he was receiving intravenous fluids after cramping up during halftime, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I was in here most of the third quarter," Green said. "I didn't want to think (that he was out for the game) because I've been cramped up before. But I got the IVs in me quickly and got back out there as fast as I could." Green tallied 118 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in the game.

Playing in his first game since Week 3, Ahman Green ran for 118 yards and a score on 18 carries Sunday . While Green's numbers were very good, most of them came on a 70-yard TD run. He managed just 48 yards on his other 17 carries.

Green is coming back from a hamstring injury and has missed the last two games. "He's running with power in practice; I like the way he's taking it up inside," offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski said. "He had some really nice runs in practice this week. As soon as we get him doing it the real way, we'll find out pretty quick. I have a lot of confidence in him right now."

"(Green) has a tight hamstring that takes a while to get warmed up and it fatigues over the long run," McCarthy said. "We're going to play them both. You like to have a 1-2 punch and keep them both fresh." Green tested out his hamstring injury by practicing on Friday.

He is nursing strains in both hamstrings and missed the past two days of practice. "I'm hopeful that he's going to play, just based on the information we have," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. McCarthy added that if Green can't go or is limited, he's leaning toward using Vernand Morency on first and second downs and Noah Herron on third downs.

If the Packers were extremely concerned that Green's hamstring problem would keep him out Sunday, they probably would have had the backups working in that role. More should be known about Green's status today, but Vernand Morency probably would start if Green can't, while Noah Herron would see action, too.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Ahman Green is recovering well from the quadriceps surgery he underwent Oct. 25. "Ahman is a workaholic," said GM Ted Thompson. "He's feeling really, really good. Sometime during the preseason, maybe not at the very start, we expect Najeh (Davenport) and Ahman to be back. We're going to try to be very cautious." With Green and Davenport coming off season-ending injuries and Samkon Gado still a relative unknown, the Packers backfield will be very interesting to watch as the season approaches.
