Michael Pittman hasn't practiced this week after aggravating his ailing ankle last week, according to the St. Petersburg Times. He's listed as doubtful, so you can expect Michael Bennett to back up Earnest Graham on Sunday.

Buccaneers running back Michael Pittman was unable to participate in Wednesday's practice and the St. Petersburg Times reports he may have aggravated his ankle injury last Sunday, which was his first game in over a month. Pittman owners shouldn’t expect to see him on the field this week and he may have to miss additional weeks because he returned too early from his injury.

Michael Pittman is slated to make his return from an ankle injury on Sunday against the Falcons, according to the St. Petersburg Times. He was limited during practice on Wednesday, but is expected to split carries with Earnest Graham in Week 11.

The Buccaneers expect running back Michael Pittman to return from his ankle injury when the team comes back from their Week 10 bye. Head coach Jon Gruden is expected Pittman to be a key contributor right away. "Pittman has always been a big part of our offense," Gruden told the St. Petersburg Times. "He's a great receiver. He's one of the great third-down backs in football, I believe. He allows us to move formations. He's a joker. He's a guy who can line up in any eligible position and function, and he's just going to supplement what we're doing and give us a good runner and excellent receiver and certainly a good pass protector."

Michael Pittman , expected to miss six-to-eight weeks after tearing ligaments in his right ankle in week five, told the Tampa Tribune he expects to be back much sooner than that. “That is why I was trying to tell people that I would be back before [six weeks],” Pittman told the Tribune. “It was a bad ankle injury, but I educated myself on doing the type of things to help you recovery-wise. What type of supplements I need to take, vitamins and different types of enzymes to take, plus the treatment I get and different types of exercises for my ankle. I don’t want to rehurt myself, or hurt my teammates by doing something that I should not be doing, but if it feels good enough I’m going to start running next week. We’ll see what happens.” So rather than a late November return, it appears as if Pittman could be back on the field when the Bucs return from their week 10 bye—and maybe even sooner.

Michael Pittman will miss six-to-eight weeks after severely spraining his right ankle on Sunday, head coach Jon Gruden tells the Tampa Tribune. Reports and sources previously suggested that Pittman may have a crack in his fibula. Either way, Pittman is now on the sidelines alongside Cadillac Williams and Mike Alstott. Earnest Graham and Kenneth Darby are the only two healthy runners left on the Bucs roster.

It appears that Michael Pittman has more than just an ankle sprain. Sources said that Pittman fractured his fibula during Sunday's game, according to the Tampa Tribune. Such an injury likely will cost him 3-4 weeks of action, so look for Earnest Graham to handle the bulk of action in the Bucs' backfield for now.

Michael Pittman was knocked out of Sunday's game with an ankle injury. He was carted off the field and did not return to the game. The Bucs' rushing game against the Colts was non existent, as Pittman had five carries for -1 yards and Earnest Graham had just six carries for 11 yards. Things won't get any easier for the Bucs rushers, who already were without Cadillac Williams, next week when they face the Titans.
