Randy Moss is excited about the 2009 campaign and believes the Patriots' offense could be better than the 2007 unit that set records and finished the regular season 16-0, according to the Boston Globe. Moss said, "The sky is the limit for this offense. I think that we could be a little bit better than two years ago. I am very excited for us as an offense. There is a lot of good things about Tom Brady coming back that excites the people, the fans, the coaches and the players around here."

The Patriots have tweaked Randy Moss' contract, according to the Boston Globe. The Patriots took $1.5MM of what Moss was due to make in 2009 and guaranteed that figure by converting it into a bonus. The restucturing freed up around $750,000 on the 2009 salary cap, and will increase Moss's salary cap charge in 2010.

Vikings assistant coach Chad O'Shea will be named wide receivers coach for the Patriots, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The Associated Press reports that the New England Patriots have hired Scott O'Brien as the new special teams coordinator. In addition, Bill O'Brien was converted from wide receivers coach to quarterbacks coach, while Josh Boyer was promoted from defensive coaching assistant to defensive backs coach.
