"There has finally been acknowledgment that the injuries were not intentionally inflicted," Moss' attorney Richard Sharpstein said. Assuming the case is dismissed, Moss should be free from punishment from the league. Moss recently agreed to re-sign with the Patriots for the next three seasons.

Randy Moss chose to re-sign with the New England Patriots due to “intangibles” that pushed matters in their favor, according to ESPN. "Oftentimes, when people judge whether a contract is a success, they look at how much it's worth. But there is more to life than just pure money," Moss’ agent Tom DiPiero said. "In this case, Randy experienced some intangibles during the year, from his friendships, to his relationship with the coaching staff and others in the organization. Those intangibles had some value here." Reading between the lines, Moss chose New England because of Tom Brady, who can help cement his legacy going forward.

According to a report on Pro Football Talk, wide receiver Randy Moss and the New England Patriots have agreed to terms, which would keep him united with quarterback Tom Brady. Enough with this foolishness already, sign him. New England has taken some serious blows to their secondary in free agency with the losses of Asante Samuel and Randall Gay. The linebacker corps is also a concern on the inside, so the Patriots are going to need to score some serious points on offense next year. Pioli should ante up and get the deal done.

March 1, 2008
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reported Saturday that those who know Randy Moss say he is inching closer to the point of frustration at the lack of progress he has made for a new deal with the Patriots, according to NFL.com. Apparently, it's reached the point that Moss now is willing to take free-agent visits and listen to offers from other teams. Schefter went on to say there's a chance that the Packers could make a move on Moss in an attempt to woo Brett Favre away from retiring. Favre's decision on next season could come soon, and if Moss was his top receiver, you could presume that Favre would return.

The New England Patriots and wide receiver Randy Moss already have contract in place, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. All is quiet on the Moss front, but this report speculates the stud wide receiver will remain in New England where he’s already signed, sealed and delivered. This would obviously be a good thing for Moss and quarterback Tom Brady to remain united at the hip. A few more good seasons (and a championship ring) in New England could also make Moss a lock for the Hall of Fame, which would cement his legacy as one of the greatest receivers to ever play the game.

This report cites “league sources”, who expect Moss to sign a multi-year contract to remain in New England in a bid to win a championship. This certainly makes sense for the player and the team. Moss, who proved last year that he still has plenty of gas in the tank, has plenty of money, and the Patriots give him a perennial shot at that elusive championship ring.

Moss' contract expires late this month, setting up an interesting offseason for all parties, and while the Patriots are not afraid to let players leave on both good or bad terms, Moss is expected to be tagged if a longterm contract can't be worked out.
