Hines Ward returned to Steelers' practice on Tuesday following off-season knee surgery, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Ward participated in his first official workout during the team's second OTA, taking the field for a scheduled number of reps. Coach Mike Tomlin said, "We're cautious about the number of reps. We rep counted him a little bit."

Hines Ward is going to play with a chip on his shoulder this season, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Ward said, "I'm always going to be that guy who played with a chip on his shoulder. I want to prove to everybody. I don't even know what I have to prove, but I want to prove somebody something. Even though we drafted (Limas Sweed), there's no hard feelings. I'm not mad at the organization or anything. They felt this guy could help us get to the next level and win a championship. If that can happen, why would I be mad at that? At the end of the day, Sweed is not going to change how Hines Ward plays. It doesn't bother me who they bring in. If he helps bring depth to our receiving corps and we go out there with a solid four wides, if he helps us that way to bring a championship here, hey I'm going to teach him all I can because I want him to go out and make plays."

Hines Ward, who had surgery following the season to repair a partial meniscus tear in his right knee, is recovering nicely, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The veteran wideout is expected to take part in voluntary workouts at the team's South Side facility this week.

Hines Ward was busy in Saturday's loss to Jacksonville, catching 10 passes for 135 yards. Ward also did a healthy share of yapping with the Jacksonville defensive backs, from opening snap to final gun.

Hines Ward returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesdays session because of a sore knee. Who is really 100 percent healthy right now? Ward told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Its late in the year and its the playoffs. There is no tomorrow. Thats what makes the magnitude of the playoffs even greater. Im excited. I look forward to playing in the playoffs.
