Hines Ward is considered day-to-day as he deals with his knee injury, the AP reports. He didn't play in Week 4 at Arizona. "He had a good day of rehab," head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday. "I spoke with him and he feels good. We will take it day to day and see where he is. We'll do what's smart in that area, but that decision will be determined later in the week."

Hines Ward has only missed three games during his NFL career, but Sunday will mark his fourth. Cedrick Wilson and Nate Washington are expected to split time at Ward’s spot opposite Santonio Holmes.

The Steelers will try to stay undefeated Sunday without the service of their best receiver. The team’s website is reporting that Hines Ward is listed as out on the Friday injury report after failing to practice all week with a strained knee. Cedrick Wilson will get the start with Ward out and Nate Washington will man the slot position, but neither is a good play this week against the Cardinals. The loss of Ward should translate into more chances for Santonio Holmes to do some damage.

Hines Ward was held out of Wednesday's practice with a right knee strain, but while Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said his top receiver was doubtful for Sunday's game Ward hasn't given up hope. "Today it feels better, tomorrow I'll do some exercise," Ward told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I'm rehabbing 24/7, I'm trying to do all I can. I don't like to miss ballgames, you guys know that. I'll work my tail off, and we'll see. It's just a day-to-day injury now." Expect Ward to make every effort to play Sunday against the Cardinals. If he can't go, Cedric Wilson will move into the starting lineup alongside Santonio Holmes.

Hines Ward was knocked out of Sunday's game with a knee injury. "Right now, it appears to be a bone bruise," coach Mike Tomlin said, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I'll leave it at that. Of course, there will be further tests and we'll have more information on that area later on." Specifically, Ward was scheduled to have an MRI in the evening. More should be known about his status on Monday.
