The Boston Globe reports that Kevin Faulk pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession.
April 4, 2008
Kevin Faulk took full responsibility following his citation for marijuana possession at the Lil’ Wayne concert at the Cajundome, according to the Boston Herald. “I take full responsibility for what I had on me, for what happened,” Faulk said. “But at the same time, with regard to some of the things that were said, there were stories that I got arrested, that I got caught smoking. I know what happened. I don’t have to tell anyone that. When the media calls asking questions and looking for a comment, I was always taught actions speak louder than words. So I didn’t want to talk about it. I wanted to react to it. So I took a drug test, and that was it for me.” The 31-year-old Faulk passed the drug test, which was taken shortly after he was cited for simple possession.

Kevin Faulk passed a drug test on Thursday supporting his contention that when he was detained at a concert this week that the marijuana that was found on his person did not belong to him, this according to the AP. Faulk will still have to go to court on misdemeanor possession charges, he was found to have pot in the pocket of the jacket he was wearing, so even if the jacket wasn't his like he claimed, there still could be some punishment rendered by the court though he will likely not have to enter the NFL's substance abuse program.

Kevin Faulk was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession last Friday night, according to the Providence Journal. Faulk was attending a Lil Wayne concert at the Cajundome when a random security check turned up four joints. In the grand scheme of things this is considered small stuff, but it could lead to the nine-year veteran being more heavily scrutinized in terms of the NFL’s substance abuse policy going forward.
