Vikings head coach Mike Tice said on his radio show Wednesday that Daunte Culpepper will return home to Florida next week to begin rehab on his knee. It is still unclear if Culpepper will be able to return in time for the start of the 2006 season.

Daunte Culpepper underwent surgery Tuesday to repair three torn ligaments in his right knee, and Vikings remain hopeful he will be ready for training camp next summer, according to the Star-Tribune.

The Vikings have confirmed that Daunte Culpepper is out for the season. An MRI on Culpepper revealed tears to the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee. Given the severity of the injuries, there's no guarantee that Culpepper will be ready for the start of the 2006 season. Brad Johnson is the new starting quarterback for Minnesota.

The Star-Tribune reports that the Vikings expect an MRI on Daunte Culpepper today to reveal that he has a torn ACL, and probably other damage, in his right knee. He suffered the injury Sunday and would be lost for the remainder of the season if such an injury is in fact found.

The Vikings fear that Daunte Culpepper may miss the remainder of the season because of the knee injury he suffered on Sunday. Culpepper is scheduled for an MRI on Monday. Head coach Mike Tice said "I'm not a doctor, but the initial tests are not good. It doesn't appear that it's going to be anything that we as Vikings will want to hear."

Daunte Culpepper had his best game since Week 3 on Sunday against the Packers. Culpepper completed 23-of-31 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns and did not turn the ball over. Culpepper has put up solid fantasy points in two of his three home games this season.

Two friends of Daunte Culpepper were arrested for marijuana possession while driving an SUV owned by the quarterback, according to the Pioneer Press. Culpepper was on an airplane bound for Hawaii when the incident occurred. "I just know my truck is fine," Culpepper said. "I'm here for the Pro Bowl. I'll handle it after I get back."
