The Broncos are hoping Champ Bailey is ready to return to practice today, according to the Denver Post. Bailey has not practiced since August 4 because of a sore hamstring.

Champ Bailey, who despises losing and hates losing teammates nearly as much, is concerned about the Denver Broncos’ failure to retain kicker Jason Elam, according to the Rocky Mountain News. "He's proven. He's done it for a long time," Bailey said recently. "I'm very concerned." Bailey said the move was the "most significant" by the team this offseason, given the number of clutch kicks and experience in a variety of weather conditions to which Elam has been exposed in 15 years.

Cornerback Champ Bailey is well enough to play this evening against the Packers. He had been battling injuries all week and missed last week’s game against the Steelers.

Champ Bailey said Friday that he's still slowed enough by his thigh injury that he'll be a game-time call on Monday night. "It's just I feel it," he said, according to the Denver Post. "When I feel it, that's really not good. I can play through some pain, but stretching and pulling is another thing." Clearly his absence would hurt the Denver defense, but it would help the Packers' receiving game considerably.

Champ Bailey will miss Sunday's game against the Steelers, according to the AP. He sustained an injury to his left thigh two weeks ago, but the bye week didn't give him enough time to get into game shape. It's just the third game Bailey has missed during his career.
