The World Champion New York Giants officially terminated the contract of veteran fullback James Finn on Wednesday, according to The Blue Screen. The reason for the terminated contract was due to a failed physical. Finn was placed on injured reserve during last summer's training camp with a shoulder injury.

June 14, 2007
The Giants placed James Finn on injured reserve on Wednesday. Finn underwent shoulder surgery in Los Angeles on Monday to repair a tear in the back on his labrum, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. He was expected to need four-to-six months to recover.

James Finn will start for the Giants over Charles Stackhouse in tomorrow\'s preseason game against the Jets, according to the New York Daily News. The starting fullback battle between Finn and Stackhouse remains pretty close with no apparent front runner right now.
