The scheduled surgery on the shoulder of Steelers' defensive end Aaron Smith has been delayed twice due to illness, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Smith postponed his October 16 appointment due to the flu, and then again a week later due to a sinus infection.

Updating a previous report, Scout.com is reporting that Steelers' defensive end Aaron Smith will have surgery for a torn rotator cuff on Friday. Smith is expected to be out until at least January with the injury.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the Steelers will be without defensive end Aaron Smith this week. Smith suffered a shoulder injury last week against the Lions, and the team fears it could potentially be serious.
