Najeh Davenport turned into an unlikely star Thursday at St. Louis, rolling up 167 total yards and two touchdowns after Willie Parker broke his leg early in the first quarter. Parker has already been ruled out for the balance of the year, so Davenport will be the team's featured back going forward.

Najeh Davenport , scratched from the Steelers Week 12 win over Cincinnati with a mysterious right foot injury, may have been felled by an exercise machine. "He's been getting some extra work while trying to control his weight as the season wears on," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. "To my knowledge, at this point it might be a product of getting too much time on the elliptical cycle. Be careful as you get your workout in. The elliptical cycle will get you."

Cleveland police have charged Najeh Davenport with three misdemeanor counts for his alleged role in an Oct. 4 domestic incident, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Davenport is accused of committing domestic violence, endangering children and unlawful restraint during a custody dispute with Anita Person over their 5-year-old child. Steelers spokesman Dave Lockett could not be reached for comment. The only good news for Davenport is the timing of all this - Pittsburgh doesn't play in Week 6.
