The New York Giants could release RB Rueben Droughns, according to the New York Times. The article speculates with Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward on the roster, the organization has no need for the veteran running back. Droughns, who is an eight-year veteran journeyman type, appears to be caught up in a numbers game in the Big Apple. He rushed for 1,200-yards as recently as 2005, as a member of the Cleveland Browns, so he could latch on as a backup on a different team.
