DeShaun Foster has been named the starting running back for the Panthers this week. He missed practice on Wednesday with a hand injury.

DeShaun Foster returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out the previous day, according to the Charlotte Observer. He is battling a head injury, but the team has stated that he did not suffer a concussion.

DeShaun Foster (post concussion) returned to practice Thursday after sitting out the previous day. It looks like he'll probably be ready to handle his normal workload on the weekend, but we'll see what John Fox tells us Friday.

Panthers running back DeShaun Foster didn’t practice Wednesday because of a blow to the head he suffered on Sunday. Head coach John Fox told the Charlotte Observer that Foster doesn’t have a concussion. It is very common for a veteran to miss Wednesday practices, so we’re not too worried about this. It is about time DeAngelo Williams starting getting more carries anyway.

DeShaun Foster recently had his contract restructured, helping the team free up $1 million in salary-cap space, the Charlotte Observer reports. He dropped his base salary from $4.25 million to $750,000 for next season, but he was paid a $1.5 million roster bonus April 9 and will get another $2 million guaranteed roster bonus. That $2 million bonus will be split between this year and next for cap purposes.
