Jerry Porter is eager to not only restart his career, but to reshape his reputation with a team that is free of the Oakland Raiders' almost comical chaos, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I've been trying to start fresh for a while," Porter said. "It is a bit of a relief to know you're going somewhere [Jacksonville] that is very stable.” Porter was a malcontent in Oakland, but he does represent the Jaguars’ best downfield threat since Jimmy Smith.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have reached a contract agreement with Jerry Porter, according to SBNation. The report cites the NFL Network’s Adam Schefter, who is reporting the deal is for six-years, $30 million - including $10 million in guaranteed money. With that type of money involved, Porter will be expected to be the go-to guy in the Jacksonville passing attack.

Jerry Porter is scheduled to visit with Jacksonville and may have already reached an agreement on a contract, according to FOX Sports. As far as we know nothing has been finalized, but this transaction would make sense for both sides. Porter could leave the purgatory of Oakland, for a new start in Jacksonville, a franchise who could use an upgrade at wide receiver.

Jerry Porter wants out of Oakland, and according to a report on the Minnesota Star Tribune the Vikings will be heavily involved in an attempt to land his services. The report also states that the team will look into the Bernard Berrian sweepstakes, but given the fact that Porter will be much less costly, he figures to get a long look as the Vikings search for someone to compliment Bobby Wade.

Jerry Porter was asked by the crew of NFL Live on ESPN Thursday what the problems were in Oakland since the team appeared in Super Bowl XXXVII. The Raiders wide out blamed the five straight seasons of woe on turnover at quarterback and coaching staff. Porter told the on-air cast that it's time for him to "move on" -- from Oakland. Porter, a free agent, has several suitors according to published reports. The Eagles are reportedly the most interested in the 30-year old wide out.
