Travis Henry has been arrested after an alleged cocaine deal, according to the Rocky Mountain News. Henry and another man, James Mack, were arrested Tuesday as a result of a multi-kilogram cocaine transaction in Centennial, Jeffrey D. Sweetin, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA's Rocky Mountain Division, said in a statement.

Travis Henry has been released by the Broncos, according to the AP. Coach Mike Shanahan said, "We did not feel his commitment to the Broncos was enough to warrant a spot on this football team. Although Travis has the ability to be one of the top running backs in the NFL, we have to make decisions that are in the best interests of our organization and its goal of winning a Super Bowl."

Travis Henry will miss the rest of this week due to a strained hamstring, the Denver Post reports. Head coach Mike Shanahan hopes Henry can return to action on Monday. "With those hamstrings, you don't know how long it's going to take," Shanahan explains. The Broncos open a team camp on Monday.

Denver head coach Mike Shanahan has said repeatedly he doesn't consider Selvin Young or Andre Hall to be big enough to be every-down backs, and this week intimated that Travis Henry would need a "great offseason program" to be considered one again, according to the Rocky Mountain News. The article goes on to speculate that Shanahan could utilize his first-round draft choice (12th overall) to select a running back capable of carrying the load. During Shanahan’s tenure, Denver has not selected a running back in the first round of the NFL draft. The closest foray into that uncharted world came in 2006, when the Broncos' would have taken Laurence Maroney, if Jay Cutler had been off the board.

Travis Henry will remain a Bronco and has restructured his contract allowing him to stay in Denver, notes the Denver Post. After a injury laden and less than spectacular first year with the Broncos the veteran wants a chance to make amends. "Travis wants to make it right in Denver," his agent, Hadley Engelhard, said Wednesday. "That is the big reason why he is back. He thinks it can work there." The terms of the new package have yet to be released but Henry had four years left on his old contract that had a roster bonus of six million dollars, owed at the league's end of year, Feb. 29.

The Broncos need to make a decision fairly soon on Travis Henry. He has a $6 million option bonus due on February 29, the Denver Post reports. The Broncos are unlikely to pay that bonus and may look to trade Henry prior to that time.
