The Raiders are reportedly hanging on to running back LaMont Jordan because some in the organization think they can still get trade value for a guy who ran for 1,025 yards in 2005, according to the SF Chronicle.

LaMont Jordan may or may not be a part of the Raiders plans this season depending on how the draft plays out, this according to the Contra Costa Times. “LaMont does have a very high contract, and a big number coming into this,” HC Lane Kiffin said. “So we have to look at what happens in the draft, look at what else is going on and make a decision.”

LaMont Jordan and Dominic Rhodes are unlikely to return to the Oakland Raiders in 2008 due to the recent signing of RB Justin Fargas to a long-term deal, according to ContraCostaTimes.com. Nothing is set in concrete, but it appears that Oakland will cut ties with Jordan and Rhodes. Jordan has been an often-injured malcontent during his three seasons with the Raiders, and Rhodes never got his sea legs under him after serving a four-game suspension last season.

LaMont Jordan is expected to split time with Dominic Rhodes at Jacksonville Sunday. Lane Kiffin will probably roll with the hot hand as the game goes along, that is, if Jordan or Rhodes can actually get hot at some point.
