December 21, 2007
LaMont Jordan is expected to split time with Dominic Rhodes at Jacksonville Sunday. Lane Kiffin will probably roll with the hot hand as the game goes along, that is, if Jordan or Rhodes can actually get hot at some point.
December 16, 2007
LaMont Jordan is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts. Dominic Rhodes is active and will be the backup to starter Justin Fargas.
December 14, 2007
LaMont Jordan spoke up on Thursday and says he is looking forward to 2008. "I can't wait for the season to be over, just to get a fresh start, whether it's here, whether it's somewhere else, or wherever the case may be," he tells the Oakland Tribune. "I'm just ready to get this year over with." Jordan was the Raiders starter early in the year, but he encountered injuries and has carried the ball only 19 times over the last six weeks.

LaMont Jordan was healthy enough to play Sunday but was inactive, as the Raiders dressed Justin Fargas, Dominic Rhodes and Justin Griffith in the backfield. "It was just a (coach's) decision," Lane Kiffin told the Contra Costa Times. "We had to pull up a special teams guy at the last minute, so we dressed (only) four running backs." Dressed or not, Jordan wasn't going to get on the field.
November 18, 2007
LaMont Jordan is listed as inactive for the Raiders as they take on the Vikings on Sunday. Jordan has been suffering from a nagging back injury throughout the season, but this move is believed to be more related to his shattered expectations. Justin Fargas, who has taken over as the team's starter, will get the vast majority of the carries against the ferocious Vikings run defense.
November 12, 2007
LaMont Jordan did not get any touches during Sunday's game. "We decided Justin (Fargas) was the starter again, and Dominic (Rhodes) hadn't had any touches so we decided we were going to use Dominic as the change-up back," coach Lane Kiffin said, according to the Contra Costa Times. Jordan got off to a hot start this season, but he's clearly fallen out of favor with Kiffin.
October 28, 2007
LaMont Jordan has said that his back is feeling better, but it is clearly still bothering him. Jordan ran for just 16 yards on 12 carries Sunday and failed to catch a pass for just the second game this year. He is averaging just 2.1 YPC since injury his back in Week 4. Meanwhile, Justin Fargas had a solid day, rushing for 61 yards on 12 carries and catching three passes for 36 yards.
October 21, 2007
LaMont Jordan (back) is active and will start in Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Fantasy owners should start him if they normally would.
October 14, 2007
LaMont Jordan was active for the Raiders on Sunday, despite being listed as doubtful with his back injury, but he wasn't very effective. He picked up just 42 yards on his 18 carries (2.3 YPC). It's possible his back is still bothering him somewhat, but we should know more later this week.
October 14, 2007
Despite being listed as doubtful with a back injury, LaMont Jordan is active for the Raiders. Still, his workload will likely be somewhat limited, as he should share carries with Justin Fargas and Dominic Rhodes.
October 12, 2007
LaMont Jordan was limited in practice again on Friday and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game in San Diego. Jordan is dealing with a sore back. He will test his back again during pre-game warm-ups on Sunday, the Sacramento Bee reports.
October 12, 2007
LaMont Jordan spoke to the media on Thursday about his sore back. "This is the worst it's been in years," he explains to the Oakland Tribune. "I really can't remember it feeling that bad, as it did in the Miami game, but it's getting better. I'm not going to say I'm 100 percent or anything like that... Really, it's just a matter of how things go (Friday), and if the coaches feel comfortable with me getting out there." Jordan took a pain-killing shot in his back sometime since Week 4. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but showed improvement on Thursday.
October 12, 2007
LaMont Jordan was active at the visible part of Thursday's practice, according to the Sacramento Bee. Nonetheless, the status on Jordan (back) for Week 6 probably won't be determined until game day, and we've already learned that head coach Lane Kiffin has no intention in being helpful with his injury disclosures and lineup plans. Tread carefully here, especially considering the crowd currently in the Oakland backfield (Jordan, Justin Fargas, Dominic Rhodes).
October 11, 2007
LaMont Jordan left practice on Wednesday due to lingering issues with his back. Head coach Lane Kiffin tells the San Francisco Chronicle that Jordan's status is "up and down." He injured his back in Week 4.

October 2, 2007
LaMont Jordan received good news on Monday when X-rays of his injured back were negative. The team is on the bye in Week 5, and Jordan could be ready for Week 6. However, he may need to give up some of the carries. "Our plan all along was to have (several) guys carrying the ball, not just one guy carrying the ball all the time," head coach Lane Kiffin tells the Oakland Tribune.
October 1, 2007
LaMont Jordan was knocked out of yesterday's game after severely aggravating his nagging back injury. He was on crutches afterward, moving around gingerly, according to the Contra Costa Times. "We do not know the severity of it," Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said. The Raiders have their bye this week, so he'll get some extra time to recover. If Jordan isn't ready for Week 6, Dominic Rhodes will be off his suspension and likely would start.
September 30, 2007
LaMont Jordan was carted off to the Raiders locker room late in the second quarter in today’s game against the Dolphins. He was twisted awkwardly during a tackle, and was very slow being helped off of the field by the training staff. CBS is reporting that they are looking at his back; his return is questionable.
September 22, 2007

September 20, 2007
LaMont Jordan's status may not be known until right before kickoff Sunday, according to the Sacramento Bee. Jordan is battling a sore back and hasn't practiced the last two days. New head coach Lane Kiffin has quickly proven to be one of the most uncooperative coaches with respect to injury info, so fantasy owners might be playing a guessing game for a while. Stay tuned.
September 19, 2007
LaMont Jordan missed Wednesday’s practice with a sore back, according to the Oakland Tribune. The paper said that missing a Wednesday practice isn’t atypical for Jordan after a game with a heavy workload. Unless he misses the next two days, there is no reason to adjust your plans for LaMont this week.
September 17, 2007
LaMont Jordan rushed 25 times for a career-high 159 yards on Sunday, but he was unhappy with the loss to the Broncos. "We need to do a better job offensively to play four quarters," Jordan tells the San Jose Mercury News. "We can't wait until the second half to make plays. We've got the second half locked down, almost perfect. We need to come out fighting in the first half." That's the first time Jordan has rushed for over 100 yards on the road since joining the Raiders. He's still looking for his first road rushing score as an Oakland player.

LaMont Jordan knows the Raiders tried to replace him this summer and knows he's not the class of the AFC West, but he's out to prove everyone wrong this year. "There's a lot of people questioning whether I'm the guy for the job," Jordan tells the Sacramento Bee. "And, of course, at some point, pride is going to get in the way and, at some point, you're going to want to make a statement. But it's not something I talk about." Jordan dropped weight this offseason and has expressed that he likes this season's offense a lot more than last year's version.
