Deuce McAllister underwent surgery to repair his left ACL. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that he also had a minor “clean-up” surgery on his right knee, which was repaired back in 2005.

Deuce McAllister confirmed to the AP on Tuesday that he suffered a torn left ACL during Monday’s loss to the Titans. The injury will require surgery and he will miss the remainder of the season. “We’ll see how surgery goes and we’ll go from there,” McAllister told the AP on Tuesday. He tore his right ACL back in 2005.

Preliminary reports indicate that Deuce McAllister tore the ACL in his left knee and will likely miss the remainder of the season, according to ESPN.com. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday to verify the diagnosis. McAllister suffered the injury during Monday’s loss to the Titans. He tore his right ACL back in 2005.

Eye and knee injuries won’t be enough to sidelined Deuce McAllister when the Saints face the Titans at home on Monday. He told the New Orleans Times-Picayune that he will probably wear a visor on his helmet to protect his eye.

Deuce McAllister did not practice on Wednesday due to a right knee injury. “I back off of him and just had him sit,” McAllister told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow, but he should be fine.” McAllister is expected to play on Monday against the Titans.

Deuce McAllister was hit above the eye early in Sunday's game and was bothered at times by blurred vision, he told the AP. McAllister averaged 4.9 yards on just 10 carries, but he did lose a fumble.

Deuce McAllister did not play in the exhibition game against the Steelers on Sunday. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that he was simply resting his body.

Deuce McAllister underwent arthroscopic surgery in February to clean out scar tissue and repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee, according to the Times-Picayune. He still expects to be at full speed for offseason mini-camps and training sessions, though. "It's not necessarily a good thing, but it's not necessarily a bad thing, either," McAllister said.

Deuce McAllister set a Saints team playoff record with 143 rushing yards Saturday night. He added one rushing and one receiving touchdown to lead the Saints to their first NFC Championship game next week.
