As we reported yesterday, the New England Patriots released LB Roosevelt Colvin, freeing up approximately $5.5 million in salary cap space. According to the Boston Herald, the team is interested in using some of that newfound money on either Pittsburgh LB Clark Haggans or Arizona LB Calvin Pace. Haggans had 58 tackles last year, while Pace, who fits most of the physical attributes the organization looks for in a linebacker, posted a career year with 98 tackles and 6.5 sacks. With both Tedy Bruschi and Junior Seau pondering retirement, the team definitely needs to consider some upgrades at the linebacker position.
