Alfonso Boone is projected to start at left defensive end for the Chiefs this season, according to the Kansas City Star. Tamba Hali will be moving to the right side in place of the departed Jared Allen, who recently joined the Vikings. Rookie Glenn Dorsey will cover Boone's spot on the inside.

The Chiefs signed Alfonso Boone to a four-year contract on Tuesday, according to the AP. Terms of the deal aren't known. He played in 12 games, starting four, for the Bears last season.

Alfonso Boone will start at defensive end for the Bears while Ted Washington is sidelined for the next 10-to-12 weeks with a torn ligament in his left foot.
