The Bengals are seemingly preparing for Chad Johnson's exit as they selected a pair of wide receivers early in the NFL Draft, according to FanNation. Those receivers were Coastal Carolina's Jerome Simpson in the second round, and Florida's Andre Caldwell in the third. Chad Johnson is still demanding a trade and Bengals' offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski said, "You always have to stay ahead of the curve."

Per a league source, head coach Marvin Lewis won back the Cincinnati Bengals’ locker room with recent comments on diva wide receiver, Chad Johnson, according to Pro Football Talk. “He’s stated without an opportunity to go to a different team and a new contract, he wasn’t going to play,” Lewis said to the media two days ago. “I think he’s a man of his word. He says he’s not going to play, so don’t play.”

Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis, who initially denied the team had received offers for receiver Chad Johnson, confirmed to ESPN that the Bengals turned down Washington's offer of two picks over the weekend. The Redskins offered their first-round pick, No. 21 overall, and a conditional third-rounder in 2009 that could escalate to a first-rounder if Johnson and the Redskins hit certain performance levels.
