Michael Bennett returned to practice Wednesday, three weeks after he suffered his hamstring injury, according to the Kansas City Star. He has vowed to play on Sunday. Bennett suffered the injury while racing 320-pound lineman Brian Waters one day after practice. (Waters, who received a 15-yard head start, won the race.) "It was something friendly, we were messing around," Bennett said. "I shouldn’t have been doing it, and I got my punishment for it. I had to sit and watch. So no more stupid mistakes."

He will not play in Saturday's preseason opener at Houston and he may not start practicing until next week. Bennett will backup Larry Johnson in Kansas City this year.

The Chiefs have agreed to acquire Michael Bennett from the Saints, assuming he passes his physical, according to the KC Star. With Priest Holmes likely set to retire, Bennett would become the primary backup to Larry Johnson. Bennett has never been consistent as a pro, but if LJ goes down, Bennett would have his best shot yet at making some fantasy noise.

Michael Bennett won't be back with the Vikings next year, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "They told my agent they're going in another direction, so I won't be coming back," Bennett said. "It's disappointing, because you felt you established yourself there and you wanted to be one of those guys who stayed with a team throughout his whole career. But it didn't work out for me."
