It was the wind's fault. At least that's the reasoning Titans coach Jeff Fisher gave as to why tight end Alge Crumpler did not get the ball thrown his way more, according to the Tennessean. "The wind knocked the ball down that would have been a completion on a cross early in the ball game. Alge blocked very well and was into the game. His numbers will pick up," said Fisher.

Alge Crumpler has shown up with his new team rededicated to the game of football, according to the Nashville City Paper. “My last couple of off-seasons had been kind of filled with rehab,” Crumpler said. “I had shoulder surgery three years ago. I had knee surgery the last couple of years, and I didn’t have anything this year. That time has allowed my body to kind of heal up. I feel good"

The Seattle Seahawks pursued tight end Alge Crumpler on the open market, but ultimately didn’t have the salary cap space, according to Pro Football Weekly. Head coach Jeff Fisher envisions new tight end Alge Crumpler being a major red zone threat according to the City Paper. “He has 35 [career] touchdown catches, so he knows how to get open in the end zone,” Fisher said at Monday’s news conference introducing Crumpler. “He knows how to get in the end zone.” Crumpler, who has scored 13 touchdowns the past two seasons, should provide a nice shot in the arm to a passing offense that only crossed the stripe nine times through the air in 2007.

Alge Crumpler has agreed to a two-year deal that he plans to sign today in Nashville, according to ESPN. The deal will be worth $5 million and includes a $1 million signing bonus. During the last two days Crumpler has been in negotiations with Tennessee and Seattle. At the end of the day, Crumpler thought quarterback Vince Young mirrored some of the positive things he saw from Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. There have been some concerns about Crumpler’s knees, but if healthy he will make a nice addition for Young who desperately needed a veteran target in the passing game.

Alge Crumpler isn't officially a Titan just yet, the tight end's agent, James Williams, told Titans Radio Sunday night. "Where did you see that report?... We talked on Sunday, lets put it that way," Williams said. "He has not signed a contract nor agreed to anything." It still seems likely that Crumpler will end up in Tennessee, but Tampa Bay and Seattle could also enter the picture.

Former Falcons tight end Alge Crumpler is close to signing with the Seattle Seahawks, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The report cites the player’s agent James “Butch” Willams as confirming the deal is almost done. "The connection with the people that have left the Falcons is important," Williams said. "With Coach [Jim] Mora, Mr. [Tim] Ruskell and Patrick Kerney in Seattle, that causes us to be comfortable." Crumpler, a four-time Pro Bowler, compiled 316 receptions for 4,212 yards and 35 touchdowns during seven seasons in Atlanta. If healthy, Crumpler represents a substantial upgrade over Marcus Pollard, who was a major disappointment last season.

Free agent Alge Crumpler will visit the Seahawks on Thursday and Friday, this according to The News Tribune of Tacoma. Crumpler will apparently go through a physical as part of the visit, but the report states that the team is very high on the tight end depth in this year's draft so they may end up passing on Crumpler.

The agent for TE Alge Crumpler said Tuesday he’s heard from the Tennessee Titans, and expects to meet with them later this week at the NFL Scouting combine in Indianapolis, according to the Tennessean.com. "I have heard from the Titans, and Tennessee is very attractive to him," agent James Williams said. "It is a well-run organization, and Alge could come in and help them get to the next level if the situation is right." According to the report, 11 teams have expressed interest in Crumpler, who is a five-time Pro Bowler. Tennessee could definitely use the help on offense, given the fact they scored one or less touchdown in nine of 17 games last year.

Alge Crumpler, who was recently cut by the Atlanta Falcons, will begin discussions in the near future with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers about the possibility of joining the organization, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Tampa Bay is definitely in the market for a tight end with Anthony Becht and Jerramy Stevens expected to become unrestricted free agents on Feb. 29. Alge Crumpler was among seven players released by the Atlanta Falcons on Friday, according to NFL.com. Other players who were cut include: QB Byron Leftwich, OT Wayne Gandy, CB Lewis Sanders, WR Jamin Elliot, LB Marcus Wilkins and DT Rod Coleman. “This is a difficult day for the entire organization,” Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff said. “A number of these players have contributed to this organization on and off the field at a high level and we greatly appreciate their efforts. These decisions weren’t easy, but we felt they were necessary to build a team in the long-term best interest of the Falcons and its fans.” Crumpler, a four time Pro Bowler, is the biggest name of this bunch from a fantasy perspective. During his seven-year career in Atlanta, Crumpler caught 316 balls for 4212 yards and 35 touchdowns. Crumpler will certainly catch on with another team during the offseason.
