Alge Crumpler returned to action on Sunday after missing a couple of games with knee and ankle injuries. He had just two catches in the game, but he took the second one 30 yards for the game-winning touchdown. Crumpler figures to be hit or miss the rest of the season, but at least he's back on the field now.

Crumpler was unable to suit up last week and the Falcons have a bye this Sunday. Crumpler owners have been disappointed by his output this season and that likely won’t change even when he gets healthy enough to play.

Alge Crumpler, who missed Sunday's game against the Saints because of pain in his left knee, will not need surgery to alleviate the problem, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He has also been dealing with an ankle injury in recent weeks. "The combination of the knee and the ankle put some stress on his old knee injury so it's really [needed] rest," head coach Bobby Petrino said in his press conference. "Hopefully, he'll come back from the bye week ready for the San Francisco game like he did when he took the rest in preseason camp, feeling refreshed and faster. That's what we're hoping for." Sunday was the first time in since 2004 that Crumpler has missed a game. He's been a fantasy disappointment this season because of the injuries and the Falcons' problems under center. Dwayne Blakley will start in his place again if Alge can't answer the bell in Week 9.

Alge Crumpler underwent arthroscopic surgery last Friday to clean debris from his left knee, according to the ESPN.com. Crumpler has been forced to contend with swelling and pain in the left knee for the past two seasons.
