Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith spoke about his return to the team on Thursday, and says he is ready to move on from talking about the incident that saw him suspended for two games for sucker punching teammate Ken Lucas, according to Panthers.com. "I know I'm not a victim, as people may think. I know I'm not giving them lip service. I'm not just saying stuff just to get people off my back. I'm telling you how I feel. Sometimes, obviously, when you do something wrong, you don't want to constantly keep talking about it," he said.

Steve Smith will return from his two-game suspension at the perfect time. In his last game against the Vikings (in 2005), he caught 11 balls for 201 yards and a touchdown. It's the only 200-yard game in the career of Smith, who also has a kickoff return for a touchdown against the Vikes.

Steve Smith is experiencing lingering pain in his shoulder and may need to undergo surgery following the season, according to the Rock Hill Herald. He sustained the injury in the preseason game against the Redskins and said, "I’m not sure what we’ll do at the end of season. I’ll talk to more than one doctor to get a fair assessment on the best procedure to minimize that pain that I have on a day-to-day basis. It really doesn’t concern me too much.
