Lawrence Tynes will remain the kicker for the Giants for the next five years after agreeing to a 5-year, $7 million deal on Monday according to the NY Star Ledger. The deal is not yet complete, they are still working on some language, but it appears to be almost finished. Tynes put up 109 points last season and was 8-for-8 on 40+ yard kicks though he faltered a bit on kicks from 30-39 yards (5-for-8). Still, Tynes converted 11 of his last 12 kicks during the regular season, and the team was willing to pay for that.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin continues to stand by Lawrence Tynes. “Lawrence has been our kicker for the first eight games of the season – we are 6-2,” Coughlin tells the team's official web site. “We had some disappointments. But we’re sticking with him.” Tynes has missed three field goals and two extra points this season.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin is sticking with Lawrence Tynes despite a missed extra point in Week 7. "Obviously I am concerned about that," Coughlin tells the New York Daily News. "You don't ever want to deal with that. The extra point part of it should be automatic, so I am concerned about that." The Giants play in London in Week 8 and then go on the bye.

Lawrence Tynes missed a field goal and an extra point last Sunday, and head coach Tom Coughlin isn't exactly pleased about the situation. "We can't afford to miss them," Coughlin tells the New York Post. "I didn't think that was an especially difficult (field goal try)... It doesn't necessarily mean we are going to do anything about it, but obviously you are going to address situations like this."

Although Lawrence Tynes is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, he plans to play, according to the New York Daily News. Tynes is nursing a strained right calf, so even if he plays, he's a risky fantasy option.
