Lawrence Tynes was charged this morning on one felony count of substantial battery and one misdemeanor count of misdemeanor battery in connection with an altercation at a River Falls bar early Sunday, according to the Kansas City Star. The substantial battery charge carries a maximum penalty of a $10,000 fine or a jail sentence of 3 ½ years or both. The misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of a $10,000 fine or nine months in jail or both.

Lawrence Tynes has no competition in training camp for the Chiefs' placekicking job, but it's possible the club will bring someone in once the exhibition season starts, according to the Kansas City Star. "I get disappointed when I see him miss one every day," coach Dick Vermeil said. "It worries me. We'll see how he does in the preseason."
